Parents also receive benefits from their participation in the Heritage Language Literacy Club. At Family Literacy Nights, held throughout the year, parents learn about the importance of reading at home, maintaining their first language, and participating in their child’s education.

Special events and consistent contact between parents and teachers in the home language encourage parents to understand the educational process, remain informed, and become empowered to participate in decision making.
